Parents and Stakeholders Forum AL-Qalam University Katsina has handed over 264 Bed Space Female Hostel to the Management of the University.
The Chairman of the Forum Hon. Lawal Balarabe handed over the one storey female hostel which has 44 self-contained rooms on Monday, 28th March 2022.
Hon. Balarabe stated that the hostel was built at a cost of N164 million to assist Management to relocate female students living in rented apartments off campus to the University’s campus to ensure maximum security and safety of the students. Hon. Balarabe stated that ‘What we have just handed over was the first phase of female hostel and we intend to proceed with the second phase very soon’’.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor Al-Qalam University Katsina, Prof. Nasiru Musa Yauri congratulated the Forum for realising the objective of assisting the University with physical structures and challenged them to maintain the quality of their projects as could be seen in the case of Late Lawal Kaita Auditorium and Prof. Shehu Garki Lecture Hall.
Represented by his Deputy, Associate Prof. Kabir Kado, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nasiru Musa Yauri, noted that with the new female hostel, the University will be in a better position to conserve its meagre resources.
The Executive Secretary,Katsina Islamic Foundation Alh. Aliyu Garba Kankara who was present at the occasion, described the handing over as historic and encouraged the Parents Forum to keep on with the good job, assuring them of continuous support and encouragement.
