Katsina ICPC Office Seeks Close Partnership With Al-Qalam Varsity

 The Resident Commissioner, Katsina State Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Mustapha Abubakar Wala has solicited close partnership with Al-Qalam University in achieving the core mandate of the Commission.

The Commissioner stated that he decided to embark on familiarisation visit to higher institutions in the state to introduce himself and the Katsina Office of the Commission which was newly established.

Describing Al-Qalam University as important stakeholder, Mustapha Abubakar called for close partnership between the two organisations in the fight against corruption and related practices.

Responding, Vice-Chancellor, Al-Qalam University, Prof. Nasiru Musa Yauri said that the Commission has a herculean task ahead, observing that the nation has allowed corruption to run in all spheres of life for too long.

He however expressed optimism that the Situation can be remedied through strict enforcement of laws and regulations intended to ensure transparency and block perceived gaps and leakages in spending of public funds and service delivery.

Prof. Yauri assured the State Resident Commissioner of the University's commitment to reducing corruption to the barest level through due-proces and accountability, adding that the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of the University being managed by a Committee will also be upgraded to operate as a full fledged Unit.
