*Turkish Organization Donates Borehole To Al-Qalam University*
A Turkish based Islamic and Humanitarian Organization (IDDEF) in collaboration with Sheikh Nasir Kabara Centre forResearch and Development has donated two boreholes to Al-Qalam University on
The boreholes worth three million naira were strategicallylocated to serve the University Community. The first borehole supplies water to the University Mosque andthe second to Staff Residential Quarters.
In a short remarks, before the commissioning of the project, Executive Director, Sheikh Nasir Kabara Centre for Research and Development , Askiya Nasir Kabara, serving as facilitator of the project, extended happiness and commitment of the Turkish based donor organisation (IDDEF) in providing humanitarian services to communities in Nigeria.
He disclosed that more than 200 boreholes had been donated by IDDEF to many communities and educational institutions in Kano, Jigawa and Katsina States to give them easy access to clean water.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Al-Qalam University, Prof. Shehu Garki Ado thanked the donors for the intervention, describing it as timely in view of the rapid expansion being witnessed by the University.
In his words, ‘’ I will like to thank you for extending this gesture to Al-Qalam University because to us it is a big support, as it will go a long way in supporting our solution to address water scarcity in the University and I pray that the relationship between the University and IDDEF would wax stronger’’.
The Executive Director, Nasir Kabara Centre for Research and Development, Askiya Nasir Kabara officially handed over the two boreholes to the Vice-Chancellor in the admiration of members of the University Management.
