*Da’awa Committee of the university set to start conducting Islamiyya classes in neighbouring communities around the varsity*
The Da’awa Committee of Al-Qalam University, Katsina has perfected plans to start running islamiyya classes for Jangefe and Inwala villages neighbouing the University.
The Da’awa Committee is supported by the University as part of social responsibility initiative to enhance the knowledge base in the worship of Allah {SWT} among male adults in the two communities.
The Vice-Chancellor, Al-Qalam University Prof. Shehu G. Ado presented 30 copies of four sets of islamiyya text books to the leaders of the two communities on Thursday, 23rd May, 2019.
Accompanied by Chairman of the Varsity Da’awa Committee, Suleiman Abdullahi Yusuf and three other members , the Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of knowledge in islam as a complete way of life.
He explained ‘’ For long, as Management, we have been thinking of how to reach out as an islamic university to communities to benefit from our goodwill, especially in assisting with knowledge which would make communities understand the religion and therefore worship Allah better’’.
Earlier, the Chairman Da’awa Committee, Suleiman Abdullahi urged Jangefe and Inwala communities to make judicious use of the opportunity by enrolling in the adult islamiyya classes which would be conducted twice a week.
He also announced that the University had agreed to give monthly allowance of N5000 each to the Ward Heads and Imams of the two communities considering the role they would play in ensuring the success of the islamiyya classes which would start in June, 2019.
Among the books presented were copies of the holy quran, hadith, tauhid and fiqh.
