The Department of Accounting, founded in 2013, has four programmes. These are: B.Sc. in Accounting, Masters in Banking and Finance, M.Sc. in Accounting and Ph.D. in Accounting. The programmes’ study plan was developed by the Accounting Department’s academic staff who spent their formative years to make extraordinary contributions to Accounting and finance as researchers, teachers, and intellectual leaders taking into account the programmes’ mission and vision.As a Department it has been recognized as an esteemed member for its major role in growth and development of the College of Social and Management Sciences. The Department continues to excel in teaching, learning, research and innovation. In addition to academic pursuits, the department organizes several extracurricular activities that make up a valuable part of the overall university experience. To serve as a world class center of accounting research and promotion of skills, knowledge and competency in accordance with the best practice of accounting as a discipline and profession.
MISSION
To inculcate and provide qualitative accounting education for the students to be excellent and worthy in learning, through provision of scholarly teaching and research that will be acceptable within the accounting code of ethics and for pursuance of success and excellence.
