*NESA President AUK chapter emerged as VP NESA National Body in the just concluded conference held in Abuja*
Usman Shehu mukhtar the president of Nigerian Economics Students Association (NESA) AUK chapter had contested for the seat of Vice President of NESA National body and returned elected. The election was very interesting as candidates from all over Nigeria across the Six geo political zones contested for the positions that were available in NESA National body.
The election was held at Nile University Abuja and the electoral committee chairman was a graduate from the University of Calabar Mr Alex.
Usman Shehu Mukhtar emerged to win the seat of Vice president of the association with the President being Clara Sylvester a student from the University of Nassarawa Lafia with other new executives spread across the country. Some of the universities that won seats are Bauchi State university who have the treasurer, Nile University who have the Auditor General and Pro 2 among others.
Usman Shehu Mukhtar will become the second student from Alqalam University katsina to be among the NESA National Body Executives in the history of the University after Umar Abubakar Talba the former PRO 2 who is now a graduate of the institution.
The conference saw a lot of delegates with over 25 universities in attendance and over 320 registered students for the conference.
Important delegates who attended the Conference where Dr Aliyu Sanusi Rafindadi the National Staff Adviser, Mrs Tonia shoele DG chamber of Commerce, A representative from the National financial intelligence Unit, Mr Tope fasua former presidential candidate, Professor Sarah Anyawu president of the Nigerian Economics Society, Professor Mike kwanashie chairman of the occasion and former vice chancellor of Veritas University and also a long time lecturer of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Sen Muhammad Sani sent a representative and also the Vice chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi University Lapai Niger State sent a representative which was the Head of economics department to the conference. The Dean faculty of Social and management sciences Nile university Dr Glych Jellilov also attended the conference with the head of Economics department of the host university among other special guests which included house of assembly members.
The conference successfully ended on the 29th November 2019 as the students vacated their accomodation venues to their various destination.
