*Al-Qalam University Management donates food items to victims of bandit attacks in areas affected by the crisis*
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State have received donation of food items worth more than three hundred thousand naira from Al-Qalam University Katsina.
Chairman of the IDPs, Dr Salisu Garba received the donation on behalf of the victims of the recent attack by bandits on several villages in the local government area among which were ‘Yar-Gamji, Wagini, Kasai, Yasore, Sabon-Garin Labo, and Dan-Geza.
Presenting the food items at premises of the university on Friday, 31st May, 2019 the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shehu Garki Ado described the attacks as senseless and in-human.
‘’Al-Qalam University Community is equally concern about the senseless and ungodly killings by these bandits perpetrated on innocent citizens in Batsari and environs and we decided to extend a helping hand to the survivors of the in-human acts.’’ He asserted.
In his remarks after receiving the donation of the food items, Chairman of the IDPs, Dr Salisu Garba thanked Al-Qalam University for the donation.
He said the IDPs in Batsari Local Government would not forget the gesture shown by the University at this difficult situation.
Twelve different items were donated among which were seven bags of rice, four bags of millet, a bag of Garin tuwo, two bags of sugar, nine carton of spaghetti, four jerry-cans of vegetable oil, Carton of soap and detergent.
