Department Of Education

 

Dr. Tahir A. Abubakar AMNIM. TRCN, is a Senior Lecturer and serving Acting Head of Education Department, Al-Qalam University Katsina. He holds Bachelor of Art (Islamic Studies) from the then Katsina University, Katsina and Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto. Dr. Tahir obtained Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy both in curriculum studies (Islamic Education) from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia. Prior to his appointment as Acting Head of Education Department, Dr. Tahir served as Level Coordinator and Examination Officer at Department and College Levels respectively. Dr. Tahir is a Member and certified by Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).  Dr. Tahir has to his credit many scholarly publications and has participated in various Local and International Conferences/Seminars in diverse fields of Education.

VISION

The vision of the Department is to face the challenges posed by modern scientific approaches to teaching in a modern technologically driven world.

MISSION

The mission of the Department is to produce highly skilled, Allah fearing, technologically driven, refined, and scientifically creative teachers capable of teaching their chosen subjects and handle educational issues.

PROGRAMMES

The Department is currently running ten programes both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The programmes cut across Science and Humanities Education. They are:
