*Vice-Chancellor Receives Excellence Award*
The Vice-Chancellor, Al-Qalam University Katsina, Prof. Shehu Garki Ado has received an award in recognition for his immense contributions towards the development of education and human development in Katsina State and Nigeria at large.
The award along with certificate of credence were presented to the Vice-Chancellor on Thursday, 29th August 2019 at a brief ceremony at the instance of Trusted Northern Youth Awareness based in Abuja.
Its President, Mohammad Sani Ibrahim while presenting the award, explained that the organisation noted the achievements recorded in Al-Qalam University in the last few years among them construction of more hostels,lecture halls, staff offices and deployment of ICT as a tool for learning and instruction in the university.
He further said ‘’ In pratical terms, these achievemments and the quality control measures adopted by the Vice-Chancellor in running the administration of the university have promoted the name of the institution as one of the highly respected centre of learning in the country’’.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Kabir Kado thanked the leadership of the organisation for celebrating the achievements recorded by the university.
He re-assured the organisation that the management of Al-Qalam University led by Prof. Shehu Garki Ado would continuously implement decisions and policies for the general progress of the university.
Trusted Northern Youth Awareness is a non-governmental organisation with members drawn from the nineteen northern states of Nigeria seeking to promote the values of good leadership, social integration, economic growth and the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth.
Among the national patrons of the group are Prof. Sani Mohammad Yahya, Vice-Chancellor, Taraba State University, Prof. Mohammad Abdu Zuru, Vice-Chancellor, Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto and former Deputy Governor, Zamfara State, Alh. Mohammad Wakala Limar.
