*Gov. Masari Reiterates Commitment To Support Al-Qalam University*
The Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari has restated his commitment to support the development of Al-Qalam University, Katsina.
Governor Masari while receiving members of the Board of Trustees of the university in his office on Monday, 26th August 2019, promised government financial support to the university considering the rapid growth being recorded by the institution.
He explained that the State Government would soon introduce a financial support package for higher institutions in the state in which Al-Qalam University would be among the beneficiaries.
‘’We would look at the 2019 budget and ensure that we make provision for lump sum financial support for all higher institutions in state including your university’’. He stated.
The Governor appreciated the relationship with the university urging it to continue to ensure that students receive quality education, drawing attention to the fact that Katsina State is traditionally the home ground for high rated learning and scholarship.
Earlier the Acting Chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees, Sani Zangon Daura (CON) has appreciated the zeal of Gov. Aminu Masari to improve the educational system of the state.
Sani Zangon Daura represented by a member of the Board, Prof.Ibrahim Na’iya Sada described the courtesy call as a follw up on the first visit of the Board in July, 2018 soliciting the support of the government in view of the rapid growth of the university.
Sani Zangon Daura who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the university, extended invitation to the Governor to visit the university and commission a newly constructed multi-million naira auditorium donated to the university by the Parents and Stakeholders Forum.
The Chairman, Katsina Islamic Foundation, Khadimul Islam, Alhaji Bilya Sanda was equally represented by elder statesman and member of the Foundation, Alhaji Suleiman Isa Ma’iadua .
