_*Resonance of the Political Drum in Al-Qalam University Katsina*_

Politics according to late *Malam Aminu Kano* is like "Man Management", while Peter Harold Laswell postulated that politics is all about _*"Who get what, when and how".*_ By addressing this mere definitions we can simply define Politics as a fluid component (Blood) cursing through the human blood. Thus, scholars have made it clear to us that; politics is inevitable in all human activities Al-Qalam University inclusive.
Al-Qalam University is driven based on Islamic teachings, moral and codes, this maybe considered as part of the aim behind banning some social activities within and outside the campus so as to ensure the notion of the varsity as "Islamic Institution". Politics without campaign is like having Bsc certificate without attending classes! Al-Qalam University halted campaign in 2018, this weakened the strength of Political activities in the varsity because the enthusiasm of Contestants became heavily sidelined.
The nature of campgain in Al-Qalam has so many dimensions, some use face to face campaign, while some chose to campaign through social media handles and so on. Campaign is Campaign wherever you go in politics, only through campaign a voter trust whom to vote for. Some Contestant use Hausa track to please garner popularity, this campaign slogans commenced in 2017 and *Comrade Dan Gambo* was the first person to introduce Hausa track during his Campaign and as expected, it significantly boosted his political ambition more especially from the side of women.
Hausa track music played a vital role in convincing the students in the varsity during campaign in the sense that some students played it and danced in campaign arenas. Media in Al-Qalam University have great impact in the Politics of the varsity. We can recall how *Press Headlines Auk* paid countless contributions to so many Association and Comrades during campaign and after election.
The Politics of 2019/2020 can not be compared with that of some years back, it can also be termed as "simple as swallowing sweet", why because most of the Association may not hold "General Elections." They may end in appointing their excos or through unopposed election. Election have 50% influence in any Association, because if there is election there is presence of competition between two or more parties.
Centralization of Departmental Dues into Alumni account has also significantly decreased the momentum of Al-Qalam Politics, because politics is all about "who get what when and how". If there is no ample resources to execute project in your Association is like _*"You are walking in Sambisa Forest without a weapon".*_ Resources attract so many students to contest for various positions in any Association and they will fight so hard to clinch that position by all means but the absence of this resource results to degradation or death of these Associations.
Nowadays, some Leaders of various Association lack the required experience on how to generate or source income to the Association. I believed that; whenever there is crises in a particular Association, that Association has lots of resources! But if there is less or no resource, no EXCO'S of any Association will seek to be heard unless during campaign.
In addition, there are students who don't engage themselves in politics anymore, they don't entertain it at all. Those categories of students are much more in this 2019/2020 session of Politics. These students also have contributed a lots in making politics powerless in Al-Qalam. When some group of individuals especially students pay less attention in politics it will leads to the weakness of any politics of various Organizations. Last year same time as now, more than Fifty students expressed their ambitions to contest for several post in various Association but this year, up till now only around Fifteenth Students have shown their interest in contesting for the upcoming elections.
Al-Qalam University have graduated versatile students with spirits of Politics. Students like Barister of Accounting department from kano state have contested for the seat of House of Assembly; Fagge local government Constieuncy, Hon. Isma'il Usman 'Yan Daki of Political Science from Katsina State is contesting the seat of Chairman; Kaita Local government, Abdulmumin Shehu known as Fagaci of Sociology department from Bauchi state is contesting the seat of Katagum local government Chairman seat among others. All these contestants are products of Al-Qalam University. This clearly shows how politics have impacted the lives of students from Al-Qalam University. Al-Qalam is a training ground of Politics like any other institutions across the nation, students are well trained and knowledge is heavily empowered on every student.
